People who undergo a Bone Marro Transplantation need a special care before the BMT During the BMT and after the BMT Infact the special care started as soon as the pateint intered to the unit we will list bellow how to look after your pateint 1- Clothes 2- Food 3- body ------------------------------ First clothes :- All clothes including underwear should be made of 100% cotton washing of pateints clothes should be done alone using high tempriture 90cc and it is prefered to use a disinfect powder ( NAPISAN ) Pateints clothes should be ironed inside and outside for disinfection Pateints who undergo a BMT will be in need to change their clothes more than twice a day and may be 5 or 7 times so, at least be sure to make 5-6 clothes set ready for use every day Pateints clothes after ironing them should be kept in plastic disinfected tightly closed bags away from air or personal tuch ------------------------------------------- Second :- Food Pateints who undergo a BMT will have a very week stomach because of the chemical treatment the have taken during the BMT procedure so:- All food should boild and grilled No row food should be given to them No food contains any kind of Bacteria ( Yoghot for example ) should be given to them for at least three months after BMT Pateints who undergo a BMT should concentrate on meat in their daly food all kind of meat will be usefull for them Drinking water plays a very important role in recovery so pateints are supposed to drink at least three leters of Natural boiled water every day and lot of Natural fruit juice ( No sugar No flaveours added ) are good for these pateints but Not Tropical Fruit Juce Onion and Garlic should be avoided during the first year after transplantation In some cases pateints develop complications resulted of using the Antireject Drug Known as Syclospirene such as HBp or HPotasium leavel in blood or sometimes complications with the liver functions CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR FOR THE FOOD IF SUCH complications apear Third :- Body care :- Pateints who undergo a BMT will not be able to take path during their stay in the BMT unit so it is recomended to have a good and full path before going into the isolation room , Head Hair should be removed compleatly also before being inside instead of taking path Pateints may use paper towels to clean the body by using special soap provided to them by the hospital whenever it is needed As result of the chemical drugs used with pateints undergo a BMT skin ashes and dry may happen skin Oil ( Baby Jonson for example ) should be applied twice a day at least Don't hesitate to talk to your doctor if you notice any strange thing apears suddenly on your pateint body
